Your Maker is your Mirror

In Number 13, the Lord instructed Moses send twelve spies to view the promise land for forty days.
They went there and were afraid of the giants they met there. They shrink themselves to the level of their size and forgot God's promises to have the land. They reported(Numbers 13:26-29); “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Nevertheless 
the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”

Nevertheless: The word nevertheless means “despite all of that.” 
i. Despite God’s faithful promise, the people who dwell in the land are strong.

ii. Despite God’s faithful promise, the cities are fortified and very large.

iii. Despite God’s faithful promise, we saw the descendants of Anak [a tribe of large men] there.

iv. Despite God’s faithful promise, the Amalekites dwell… the Amorites dwell… the Canaanites dwell – all the land is taken up, there are no vacancies!

Among the spies is Caleb, Caleb was a man who had faith in God. He silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” Caleb had the spirit of Romans 3:4: Let God be true but every man a liar.

The other spies said 'We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them'(Number 13:33). Did they see all that was mentioned above, they did but God's promises supersedes always. The Christian is to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7).We serve a big God, do not shrink yourself to the level of your situation. Let your Maker be your mirror. Do not look into the reflection of your mistakes, see yourself in the image of God and take dominion.

If David was carried away by the size of Goliath, he would not have conquered Goliath. His eyes was on His Maker, Yahweh. Do not be frightened by what you see. God is not just big, He is a great God. He calls nothingness into existence.

The way you see yourself should not contradict your identity in Christ.

God's promises are greater than your problems. Do not see yourself through the eyes of your enemy. Everyone's acceptance is not a blessing and the way a person treats you does not necessarily mean that's how they feel about you. Its how they feel about them.

Do not look into the reflection of your mistakes, we serve a God of second chance. See yourself in the image of God.
