Created With A Purpose

The story of the nameless Samaritan woman at the well in John 4:18,
is a revealing one, full of many truths and powerful lessons for us today. Its amazing that though she had married five different husbands, she was not happy, she felt an emptiness in the inside.

If you love alcohol, sex, cars, parties, none of it can truly satisfy you completely. The satisfaction is only for a moment. There is always a quest for more. I came to discover that Man's satisfaction can only be found in the one who created him. Only through Jesus can we obtain and receive eternal life: “Jesus answered her, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life’” (John 4:13–14; cf. John 14:6).

In another instance; Moses in the Bible was trained for 40 years in the ways of the Egyptians. He was a prince and treated as royalty. But even thought he was surrounded with great luxury yet something in his inside kept souring him, there were two nations warring, the thing he was raised in and the man he was born as.

Many of us have dealt with the societal pressure of what we were raised in, against what we know God has birth us as. There is a war between the company you find yourself and the person you were created to be.

To quench the Samaritan woman spiritual thirst, the Lord first confessed the truth about plain H2O: "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again" (John 4:13). Then Jesus made a bold promise: "Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst" (John 4:14). Your circumstances do not define your destiny. That is the war you feel on the inside, it is the target of the Holy Spirit saying; wake up do not get too comfortable in this situation you are in, you are better that this.

Just like a fish is only comfortable in water, we are all created with a purpose. But you need to seek God to discover it because we are complete in Christ.

Shalom!
