Relationship vs knowledge

John the baptist was the forerunner of Jesus Christ,
but he did not recognize Jesus when he came. Peter who was a full time fisherman not an evangelist, followed Christ willingly without doubt. To hear or read about Christ is one thing but until you have a relationship with him, your knowledge may be vague.
